Dimensions (in inches): 1.23 x 10.20 x 7.24

Book Description
Interest in filter theory and design has been growing with the telecommunications industry since the late nineteenth century. Now that telecommunications has become so critical to industry, filter research has assumed even greater importance at companies and academic institutions around the world. The CRC Handbook of Electrical Filters fills in the gaps for engineers and scientists who need a basic introduction to the subject. Unlike the currently available textbooks, which are filled with detailed, highly technical analysis geared to the specialist, this practical guide provides useful information for the non-specialist about the various types of filters, their design, and applications.

The handbook covers approximation theory and methods and introduces CAD packages that perform approximation and synthesis for both analog and digital filters. Also included are design methods for LCR, active-RC, digital, mechanical, and switched capacitor (SC) filters. A thorough survey of current design trends rounds out this complete assessment of a key field of study.

A new edition of this highly-successful text! As it has for the past quarter-century, Electronic Devices and Circuit Theory offers students a complete and comprehensive study of the electronic devices and circuits they need to understand for success on the job. The authors take a systems approach to their subject, covering topics in a "building block" fashion that ensures students comprehend fundamental concepts such as diodes and transistors before they tackle such advanced topics as compound configurations, power supplies, and oscilloscopes. For each device examined, the text covers most configurations and applications. Included are discussions of the full range of related topics typically addressed in the course, with clear, precise explanations and plenty of examples to back them up. A color format highlights and defines important concepts, while line drawings present circuits and devices as they appear in the "real world."

Booknews, Inc. , June 1, 1996
A standard text for nearly a quarter-century (first edition, 1972), divided generally into two main components: the dc analysis and the ac or frequency response. This revised edition (5th, 1992) continues to be driven by the growing use of computer software, packaged IC units, and the expanded range of coverage necessary in the basic courses. PSpice is the software analysis package of choice, and the coverage of PSpice is sufficient to permit writing the input file for the majority of networks analyzed in the text. Cover Filter Design
by Steve Winder

Paperback - 365 pages (April 1997)
Butterworth-Heinemann
ISBN: 0750628146
Dimensions (in inches): 0.79 x 9.20 x 6.15

Synopsis
This is a straightforward guide for any engineer embarking on a new project or skilled in designing filters. The book is primarily about analog filter design. All the designs described in this book have been either built or simulated by the author. Much useful material that is hard to find in many other filter design books in included, such as Inverse Chebyshev filters and filter noise bandwidth. Simple design methods have been chosen from a wide variety of sources, to produce an essentially practical handbook which provides ideas and acts as a first point of reference.

The author, Steve Winder [email: windersw@boat.bt.com] , April 23, 1998
This book is useful for novices and experienced designers.
Most filter designs can be designed from this book by just using the graphs and tables of normalised component values, together with a few simple equations. However, additional equations are given to explain where these graphs and tables come from and to allow the reader to create their own graphs and tables (if they so wish). Equations are also given to allow the design of less common filters. The novice, or someone interested in a straightforward design can ignore these additional equations. Whilst the majority of the book is applicable to most general signal processing applications, chapters on diplexers and phase shift circuits will be of particular interest to RF design engineers.
