Free Power From The Earth's Oceans?! You Betcha!

Viktor Schauberger's Method For Extracting Power From the Ocean Depths:

Viktor Schauberger stated, and I quote: "Our energy technologists would abandon contemporary methods of generating electricity did they but know that this can be obtained directly from the deep sea by means if the simplest apparatus. These devices and instruments, which would lift the world off its hinges, however, would rapidly superseded and find their way into museums, because mankind has no need to go to such lengths to obtain light, heat and other forms of energy in any desired quantity almost without effort or expenses." Compliments; Callum Coats - pp.136, "Living Energies" (used by permission). Viktor was referring to drawing power from nature, namely from the ocean's deep water.

Before we begin, please ask yourself if you like being forced into paying more than $3.00 per gallon for gasoline - and - with no end in sight, watch that price per gallon continue to escalate. Then ask yourself about heating your home, paying more for every single consumer item, ie. groceries, all store bought products, clothing, shipping, travel, etc. It's ALL based on the Oil Industry (fossil fuels - Dyno Bones). We can act, now, to change over to a 100% clean, electricity driven world.

What you will read and see on this page is one of the simplest, most cost-effective ways to draw power directly from the deep, abyssal waters of our planet's Oceans. Viktor Schauberger proposed this concept nearly 75 years ago. You will hear the words, Ocean Power. Key in on this concept from Viktor - this is NOT wave power, nor does it use anything similar to existing ocean-powered systems currently in development. This, like everything Schauberger did, is totally different.

This is power extracted through a naturalesque method from the deep ocean water. This is, in effect, using the implosive nature of fundamental universal energy, and extracting that power from the depths of the ocean. Read on.

Referring to the diagram, right, it can be seen that at a certain depth in the Ocean, the temperature is at the anomaly point of +4 degrees Celsius. This saltwater center stratum may often be fresh due to the expulsion of salts with cooling under the exclusion of light, heat, and air. Moreover, due to its enormous density, it is not possible for such abyssal water to absorb any gases through processes of diffusion or convection. But, most importantly, and this is the crucial factor - there is no avenue of escape, no naturally formed rising shafts for the egress of the highly compressed +4 degree Celsius water.

By lowering a suitably designed length of pipe to the appropriate depth, this oxygen hungry water is provided with a means of rising to the surface. The water will rise of its own accord as it does in mountain springs, Its levitational vortical movement will initially be induced by a dual-function strainer, whose tangentially arranged inflow provides the impulse for the creation of a vortex while at the same time preventing the entry of aquatic creatures. The rising pipe itself will be a smaller version of the double spiral pipe equipped with vortex-inducing vanes - Schauberger's Whorle Pipe .

At a certain depth to be determined empirically, atmospheric oxygen delivered through a larger pipe forming an outer jacket, is diffused into the oxygen deficient water by means of a one-way filter consisting of a substance whose physical composition permits the passage of the smaller oxygen molecule by not that of the larger water molecule. In contact with this diffusive filter, the rising water rapidly absorbs the oxygen, warms slightly and begins to expand, to increase its volume.

According to Schauberger, this expansion can be significantly enhanced with the addition of a few drops of a highly complex carbone - such as oil. It is this powerfully expansive phenomenon which can be very simply exploited and converted to the mechanical energy required to drive electric generators. The should not be done with conventional centrifugal impellers, however, because they destroy both the structure and the quality of the water. Rather, centripetal impellers should be used of a design, either similar to what is shown in the diagrams, or, a Tesla Bladeless Disk Turbine.

How It Works:

If we take a very close look at Schauberger's brilliant invention, it can be seen that, for all practical purposes, it is quite simple (and quite ingenious!). We also have one modern invention of another kind that will aid us in building this wonderful invention, namely, "Gore-Tex Fabric." Let me explain further.

First, we see that a pipe must be sunk down into the ocean depths, to the point where the ocean water temperature is at its anomaly point of +4 Degrees Celsius (+39 degrees Fairenhight). Refer now to diagram, left. This is when water is at its absolute most dense. It is also under considerable pressure. As Schauberger theorized, it is incredibly oxygen STARVED. This is important.

The pipe-inside-of-a-pipe configuration can be made quite easily. We already HAVE the raw stock, compliments of the Oil Industry in the form of deep sea drilling piping. Here's where the Gore-Tex comes into play.

Gore-Tex fabric will let air molecules, or oxygen, in one way, but not anything larger, thus its common us in, for instance, the clothing industry. Gore-Tex fabric breaths. Sweat can escape, as moisture, however, rain (water) molecules can't come back through.

That outer casing pipe which Schauberger describes here is just the ideal use for the Gore-Tex membrane! We need to have a way to induce atmospheric oxygen down to that dense, oxygen-starved layer Viktor is talking about. Remember also that the pipes have spiral vortex generating veins inside of them. This is Viktor's Whorle Pipe invention. Water, when put inside of a pipe with spiral vortex generating ribbing, actually reduces all friction to less-than-zero. See the original patent for the whorle pipe at:  Schauberger's Water Conduit Patent .

One pipe - the inner pipe, is the upward intake of dense, oxygen-starved abyssal water, at +4 degrees Centigrade. The outer casing pipe, is for the introduction of the atmospheric air, which is oxygen saturated. What happens? A big "whoosh" is what happens! All that pressure, the introduction of a Carbone, ie. Oil, the dense oxygen-starved water, trying to seek the oxygen layer, therfore - the end result is the water will begin to rocket towards the surface. Schauberger's ingenious Whorle Pipes (the internal veins that cause the flow of water to form a double spiral vortex) add to the effect of propelling the water upwards. This upward traveling water, under pressure, now actively seeking Carbones (Oxygen), rapidly accelerates via the action of the spiral vortex inducing whorle pipes, and now gushes out at the surface.

What then? On top of this Ocean Power platform, is a Tesla Turbine . As the upcoming, highly pressurized abyssal water shoots up that center pipe, it is fed directly into the Tesla Turbine, which is instantly set into rotation. The shaft is connected to a standard, high-power generator. Walla. Free electricity from the Power of the Deep Ocean waters.

Can We Build It?

There are many off-shore Oil Drilling Platforms currently in thousands of locations all around the coastlines of the Americas. For that matter, there are many thousands more all around the world. We take an existing platform, fabricate the proper pipes, and set it up. Pretty darn simple. There is really no downside to this concept for free, non-polluting electrical energy directly from the abyssal waters of the Ocean. The deep abyssal water that comes up, drives a Tesla Turbine, and is simply put right back into the ocean. No ecological impact. Free electricity. What a concept. This concept, however brilliant, cannot at present be put into use unless government funding and action is taken. This is not a project for the private sector, unless an investor has some very deep pockets.

Whether or not a Tesla Turbine is used to capture the water power is of no real concern at this point. Any standard impellor driven water turbine will work...it's just a matter of how we regard our stewardship to this planet and its water supply. Schauberger clearly stated that a turbine of the type of construction that would not damage the water should be used. A bladeless disk Tesla Turbine would fit that bill, perfectly, My company- Global Energy Technologies - can supply them, or, at the very least, offer our consultation services to the company that does end up with the contract.

What else can we do?

We can also contact other companies doing similar work in Ocean Wave Power, Wind Power, Geothermal Steam Power, and naturally, power from flowing water via a Schauberger designed vortex accelerating system. After reviewing all the current companies offering Wave Power or the like. Dr. Evgeni Sorokodum's company - Vortex Oscillation Technology, LTD, from Russia, is quite probably the most pertinent and advanced. See his website at - V.O.T., Ltd Hydro-generators and V.O.T., Ltd Wave Power Generators with Oscillating Wings . These two inventions are simply brilliant, and could drastically augment the electrical supply to the United States (and the world, as well). All they require are the ever-present power of the Ocean's waves to run them.

We have formed a partnership with Dr. Evgeni Sorokodum, of Vortex Oscillation Technologies, Ltd., as his work is quite simply - superior. By incorporating both Viktor Schauberger's Deep Ocean Power system, along with Dr. Sorokodum's Wave Power Generators, and Oscillating Wing Power systems (ala Schauberger) - we can totally end this inter-dependency on oil and fossil fuels. Evgeni also has some amazing other inventions, as you will see from his extensive website. Will someone please wake up and listen?! How long before, compliments of the greed of a few men, will we let this travesty continue? How long - long enough until there is no clean air, water, and the environment will no longer support human life?!

What is the current state of affairs? Tell me it isn't so...

"Ocean Power Fights Current Thinking"
Corporations are readying the launch of commercial ventures to generate power using ocean waves. Now, they hope the federal government will also get involved.
By John Gartner; used by permission.

[Quote] Ocean waves provide a predictable source of energy that is easily tapped, and will likely have minimal impact on the environment, but the U.S. government is not pursuing this renewable resource. Recent advancements in the technology indicate that with a relatively small investment from the government, wave energy could soon compete with other renewable sources. Wave energy systems place objects on the water's surface that generate energy by rising and falling with the waves. The wave energy in turn moves a buoy or cylinder up and down, which turns a generator that sends the electricity through an undersea cable to a power station on the shore. (Note again, this is not the same as Schauberger's system, from above. FDG)

Several companies - Ocean Power Delivery, AquaEnergy Group and Ocean Power Technology - have developed prototype wave energy conversion systems that the companies say are ready to be deployed along United States coastlines. The potential energy to be captured from ocean waves could surpass the other forms of renewable energy such as solar, wind, or hydropower, according to a recent study by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), a research group funded by hundreds of utilities. According to a report released in January, 2006, the total wave power along the coastlines of the U.S. is approximately 2,100 terrawatt hours per year, nearly as much as all of the electricity produced by coal and roughly 10 times the total energy produced by all of the country's hydroelectric plants. Wave energy systems can capture the same amount of energy using smaller and less expensive equipment than wind or solar systems, according to Roger Bedard of EPRI, who authored the study.

Wave energy "is among the most environmentally benign technologies," and is less visible than off shore wind farms, according to Bedard. He says wave energy conversion devices have a smaller footprint than offshore wind farms and interfere less with marine life movements. Bedard says that wave energy systems requires smaller investments than offshore wind energy systems because the equipment is much lighter, but the private sector has been wary to invest because the expense for setting up demonstrations is high, and obtaining federal permits can take many years. Instead, Bedard says the federal government should step in with funding to help the technology succeed. "Very simply, new energy sources have always been funded by the federal government," Bedard says. However, "the Department of Energy does not have an ocean energy program.". The Department of Energy had a program for ocean energy, but it was discontinued, according to spokesman Tom Welch. Several wave energy systems are currently being tested in the United Kingdom, a country which according to Bedard "wants to be the world leader."

Ocean Power Delivery's Pelamis system, a series of steel cylinders, began riding the waves off the coast of Scotland in August of 2004 and is sending sufficient electricity to the grid to power 500 households annually. The 750-kilowatt wave energy conversion devices resemble metal sausage links that are connected by hydraulic pumps that pressurize oil to turn a generator and produce electricity, according Ocean Power Delivery. The devices are connected to a junction box on the seabed and feed electricity through a single cable to the shore. Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) of Pennington, NJ, is currently building a one-megawatt wave energy system off the coast of Hawaii for the U.S. Navy, according to company founder and CEO George Taylor. The OPT's PowerBuoy systems converts the up and down motion of the ocean, to electricity and feeds the energy via an undersea cable into the power grid. Taylor says the project will begin to generate electricity this year and will be completed by 2006. The cost of the technology will go down as larger systems are developed, according to Taylor. The current technology can generate electricity at a cost of between 7 to 10 cents per kilowatt hour, depending on the quality of the waves, according to Taylor.

Mass producing the devices will drive down the cost over time, making them competitive with both on and offshore windfarms, Taylor says, and to that end, the company is planning test the technology off the coasts of New Jersey and Spain. "Within five years we will be able to compete with fossil fuels by delivering energy at three to four cents per kilowatt hour," says Taylor. AquaEnergy Group is trying to obtain the necessary federal permits to test its AquaBuoy technology in the Makah Bay of Washington state, according to Alla Weinstein, the president and CEO of the Mercer Island, WA, company. Weinstein says the AquaBuoy uses a hose pump that expands and contracts as the waves go up and down, creating water pressure that is used to produce electricity. "We could be in the water in less than 12 months after the permit is approved," says Weinstein. Her company, which this month received a $1 million investment from Irish renewable energy company Finavera, is seeking $3 million in federal funding to complete the demonstration project.

However, the comprehensive energy bill that has been stalled in Congress for several years does not include ocean energy among its list of renewable resource eligible for tax credits, Weinstein says. The Bush administration has been unsuccessful in passing the energy policy because it includes a controversial provision that opens the Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. Across the Atlantic, however, the British parliament is actively supporting wave energy through funding programs and a new testing facility. The government established the European Marine Energy Centre in 2004 to test emerging technologies being developed by private companies. "The U.K. has a national renewable energy strategy that is driven right from the top," says Mike Rosenfeld, the vice consul of the British Consulate-General in Los Angeles. Rosenfeld recently made a trip to the Northwest U.S. where he met with several U.S. wave energy companies to encourage them to test their technology at EMEC. "The idea is that a U.S. marine energy developers have a good opportunity to tap into UK policies and funding mechanisms for testing and development, after it is proven, the technology can be brought back to the U.S.," Rosenfeld says.

In addition to having greater energy potential than other renewable sources, ocean energy is viewed as more aesthetically pleasing. Wave energy systems "have less visual impact" than offshore wind farms because they are partially submerged, according to Cliff Goudey, director of Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Center for Fisheries Engineering Research. One challenge is that wave energy systems must be engineered to tolerate the sometimes volatile conditions of the ocean, Goudey says. " You need to have areas where the average waves are not that different from the extreme waves, and the devices have to design to withstand a storm, but also be efficient with average current, " he says. If testing programs succeed, ocean energy could become cost-competitive with wind energy in as little as four years, according to EPRI's Bedard. However, Bedard is doubtful that the current administration will have a sea change of opinion on ocean energy. "The administration is basically a coal and oil administration," Bedard says. For the reader, I included the above article to let you see what is currently happening, both from the commercial standpoint, and from our governments. We already HAVE ocean powered systems. They are ready to be put to good use. Although, I state one more time, Schauberger's system is NOT wave power. It is simply using naturalesque systems from the deep ocean water to provide us with power (electricity). This system is much simpler than anything described as wave power recovery systems. Schauberger's ocean power system is quite probably the most cost effective of anything yet developed.

I will end with a quote from Dr. Nikola Tesla, circa 1915 -

" We have at our disposal three main sources of life-sustaining energy- fuel, water-power and the heat of the sun's rays. Engineers often speak of harnessing the tides, but the discouraging truth is that the tidewater over one acre of ground will, on the average, develop only one horse-power. Thousands of mechanics and inventors have spent their best efforts in trying to perfect wave motors, not realizing that the power so obtained could never compete with that derived from other sources. The force of wind offers much better chances and is valuable in special instances, but is by far inadequate. Moreover, the tides, waves and winds furnish only periodic and often uncertain power and necessitate the employment of large and expensive storage plants. Of course, there are other possibilities, but they are remote, and we must depend on the first of three resources."

" If we use fuel to get our power, we are living on our capital and exhausting it rapidly. This method is barbarous and wantonly wasteful, and will have to be stopped in the interest of coming generations. The heat of the sun's rays represents an immense amount of energy vastly in excess of water-power. The earth receives an equivalent of 83 foot-pounds per second for each square foot on which the rays fall perpendicularly. From simple geometrical rules applying to a spherical body it follows that the mean rate per square foot of the earth's surface is one-quarter of that, or 20 3/4 foot-pounds. This is to say over one million horse-power per square mile, or 250 times the water-power for the same area. But that is only true in theory; the practical facts put this in a different aspect."

" For instance, considering the United States, and taking into account the mean latitude, the daily variation, the diurnal changes, the seasonal variations and casual changes, this power of the sun's rays reduces to about one-tenth, or 100,00 horse-power per square mile, of which we might be able to recover in high-speed low-pressure turbines 10,000 horse-power. To do this would mean the installment of apparatus and storage plants so large and expensive that such a project is beyond the pale of the practical. The inevitable conclusion is that water-power is by far our most valuable resource. On this humanity must build its hopes for the future. With its full development and a perfect system of wireless transmission of the energy to any distance man will be able to solve all the problems of material existence. Distance, which is the chief impediment to human progress, will be completely annihilated in thought, word and action. Humanity will be united, wars will be made impossible and peace will reign supreme." Nikola Tesla, September 9, 1915  as recorded to the Manufacturers Record; September 9th, 1915."The Wonder World To Be Created By Electricity."
